Perth born, Paper Plains, have been hard at work in anticipation for their album launch in late July with their first album Anaestalgia. Although these guys have put in a conscious effort with their lyrics, the sound quality doesn’t quite meet industry standard and the vocals were lacking any real identity. It would have been worth a little more mastering and attention to detail in order to make it a must-have pop-punk album. The eight-track release ties in some old school remedies with tracks: Mixed Tapes and Lion King. Nostalgia has a place, but it is worth spending more time introducing unique styles and quality engineering, in order to make an album work.
